"Due to the quality, competitive pricing and overall dependability, Rancho California Water District opted to have Nobel maintain our data for us. It was easier and less expensive than staffing up to maintain the data ourselves."

Manila Water Company, Manila, Philippines selects Nobel, to implement structuring their Water and Sewer facility data sets to a standard ESRI Data Model and that would also be compliant with ESRI Arc FM. October 2009 - Manila, Philippines

Nobel has been awarded by Manila Water Company, to implement their Water and Sewer facilities datasets, presently held in a ESRI Personal GeoDatabase to a better structured standard ESRI Data Model, that would immediately address their present requirements and also insure it is complaint with the ESRI’s Arc FM, to meet their future needs. In addition both the water and sewer data sets will be hosted on Nobel’s proprietary web based application GeoViewer Online in the Manila Water Company’s ArcGIS Server.

Manila Water Company’s vision for GIS as covered in the GIS Master Plan envisages an Enterprise GIS, to eventually increase the efficiency of its Engineering and Operational Departments in meeting future challenges and achieving optimum performance. This would benefit the Customers with increased efficient service and living up to the expectations of its community of shareholders.

Manila Water Company in the year 1997 under the public-private partnership program, entered into 25 year concession agreement with the government owned Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, to improve the ailing water distribution and sewerage systems. This resulted in Manila Water Company to have exclusive rights to the use of land and facilities for the production, treatment and distribution of water, as well as rights to operate the sewerage system. Manila Water Company maintains approximately 220 miles of water mains,20,000 valves and 2850 fire hydrants, serving 550,000 water service connections, with 15 Pump Stations.

The scope of work at first includes, examining in detail, the water and sewer datasets presently in an ESRI Personal GeoDatabase, to assess their compatibility with the GIS Master Plan document and the varied sources that are used in updating information in each of the data set. After this, a two-day workshop will be conducted to focus on spatial data rules - connectivity, attribute domains and relationship rules, insuring against errors during data conversion of future updates to both the data sets. The outcome of the workshop will be the ESRI Water and Sewer, Data Model that would be compliant with ESRI Arc FM. Nobel will also implement a hands on training to the Manila Water Company’s staff to migrate their data sets into the new Data Model.

Nobel will also provide their proprietary web based application GeoViewer Online to run in Manila Water Company’s ArcGIS Server. This would insure that its staff have unhindered access to the GIS layers thereby increasing staff productivity, thereby allowing for easy and accurate maintenance of both the Water and Sewer datasets. This implementation will also help serve the community better by being more transparent in its functioning.
