Nobel Systems together with its Indonesian business partner PT Inowa Prima Consult promoted the Information Technology (IT) applications and advancements to PERPAMSI, Indonesia. PERPAMSI who in their role as the national water supply association of Indonesia, representing all local water utilities (called PDAMs), invited them to join in this promotion.
Subsequent to the promotion, Nobel Systems was awarded a feasibility study for Indonesian PDAMs, funded by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), to prove how the IT applications such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Hydraulic Modeling (HM) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) helped in control of Non Revenue Water (NRW) losses.
The feasibility study was conducted for a PDAM which had reported a 53%, NRW loses and the project was successfully concluded by a final project presentation to all the PDAM’s on 19th March 2010, at Jakarta, Indonesia.
This landmark study revealed that GIS and other IT applications are an indispensable tool for NRW reduction and the cost of implementing these IT applications in each PDAM, can be recovered by reducing the NRW substantially. |
